Sustainability Study Tour: French Cities

In partnership with the French Ministry of Culture and with the support the Florence Gould Foundation, the French-American Foundation conducted the second portion of its study tour, sending American practitioners of urban development and sustainability to Paris and Lille, France. This trip was the first initiative of a three-year transatlantic exchange focusing on the topic of "Sustainable Cities" to promote dialogue between experts and urban planning and development agencies, government agencies, universities, and non-profit organizations to discuss themes such as the rehabilitation of rundown neighborhoods, the revitalization of inner cities and the right-sizing of cities in decline.
